Only a few weeks ago I shared a little blog post about the Magic Hour Foundation. I was so proud to have been accepted to be a Magic Hour photographer and much to my surprise but even more to my excitement barely a week later I received an email from them asking me if I was available to photograph Madden.
Madden is three. In July of this year he was diagnosed with stage 4 high-risk Neuroblastoma. He is in treatment for 18 months and will have a stem cell transplant mid-January. We wanted to schedule the session as soon as possible, so I met Madden, his tiny little newborn brother, Madden’s mom, her mom, and her mom (yes! that is 4 generations) in the park 2 days later.

We had a nice relaxed photo session, and for a minute there, I thought I had hired a professional model. Madden has the sweetest smile, knows all about posing for the camera, and is so handsome! He loves the ducks and geese in the park, he loves big tree branches and he loves his mom.

For the last few photos Madden got into his Power Ranger costume he loves so much. And that’s when I fully realized it. Madden is without a doubt a Power Ranger, brave and strong. But of course even a Power Ranger sometimes just needs a hug from mom.
